Stranger Blue EP Out 11 April - New Single Out Now

Writer: Rebecca DownesRebecca Downes

Following the release of our covers of the Gnarls Barkley track Crazy in December and the Sananda Maitraya (Terence Trent D’Arby) song Sign Your Name, in February we are, as promised, releasing another one. And, as signalled last time, we've decided to do yet one more, and draw our most recently released five covers into an EP collection.

The Stranger Blue EP will be released on all streaming platforms on Friday 11 April and you can pre-save it here. In addition to the two tracks above, we are adding Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah and the Bonnie Raitt classic I Can't Make You Love Me and rounding off the EP with the Melissa Etheridge track This War Is Over, which we released in December 2023.

The individual tracks can be accessed by following the links under each title. Hallelujah is available to stream and download now and I Can't Make You Love Me can be pre-saved now.

Hallelujah was a track that we released on YouTube in December 2018 as the first Christmas single. It was very low-key effort that was really just a 'thank you' to fans after what had been a busy year. It is a song I love and, listening to the YouTube version again, I felt we could do it even better, so here it is.

I love Bonnie Raitt (I'm seeing her in concert again in the summer) and I especially love I Can't Make You Love Me, which we often include in our 'stripped back' sets, and I'm really excited to share our version more widely.

The streaming landscape can be muddled and irritating, so we thought it would be a good idea to pull all these covers together into one collection so that people can find them all in one place, and we've included This War Is Over because it is in the same style and it's another favourite of mine by an artist I love.

I'm really grateful for all the love for the cover tracks we have released - they have been our most successful streaming releases ever. I hope you enjoy the final two (for now, at least) as much.

The next release news will be about the first of the original tracks - watch this space!
